Cerca Pemberton Frankland River Sauvignon Blanc
A cracking good wine from this new producer. It's made up of Pemberton Savvy and Frankland River Semillon. It's a light bodied wine but one with heaps of powerful lingering intensity on the palate. A little bit of wild yeast ferment in French puncheons adds complexity while it retains its zingy mouth feel.

Heydon Estate W.G. Grace Margaret River Cabernet sauvignon 2004
A stylish and elegant cabernet from this very good Margaret River vintage. It's more medium than full bodied but still has stacks of underlying seamless cabernet intensity. Has a leafy tobacco character and slightly sinewy tannins. An excellent example of classy cabernet heading into the next phase in its development.

WINE OF THE WEEK MARCH 2010
Heytesbury 2007 ($70)
This is simply awesome. It’s a blend of Cabernet Petit Verdot and Malbec. It’s powerful and controlled at the same time with masses of deep concentrated cabernet wrapped up in some exceptional fine grained oak. The tannins are grainy and supple with the fruit displaying great richness and texture. This is a real statement of the Margaret River red at its finest.

Yalumba Langhorne Creek Vermentino 2009 ($14.95)
A new wine from Yalumba. It's a style not dissimilar to a delicate riesling. Has a tight fine acid structure with a lingering lean finish. Deceptive flavour builds in the mouth delivering quite long. An Italian variety with a future in Australia.
Score: 88/100 Cellar: Drink now.
