Gun Metal Eden Valley Riesling 2009 ($22)
Another beauty from this vintage. The gin metal refers to the outcrops of slate in the vineyard. Not surprisingly the wine has a pronounced minerality with a lean tight mouth puckering acidity on the palate. Excellent fine focussed palate which is exceptionally long.

Sauvignon Blanc 2009 ($18)
Another really impressive Sav Blanc from these guys. I liked last years, and this one shows even more natural sweet fruit intensity but with a dry crisp acid finish. Typical regional crunchy gooseberry and limey tropical fruit on the nose carries to a sustained and beautifully intense palate. There is a real subtle restraint in here but no loss of precise palate intensity.
