Watershed located 4.8 km south of the Margaret River town site on the Bussell Highway has come a long way since it released its first four wines in September 2002. Today Watershed produces 15 wine styles over three distinct ranges and approximately 100,000 cases annually from its state of the art award winning wine production facility. From the initial vineyard planting in 2001 of 78 hectares Watershed now has 187 hectares under vine spread over 4 vineyard sites in the Margaret River wine region. Watershed has a magnificent cellar door 200 seat restaurant & café all with panoramic views of the vineyard and dam. The restaurant and café are family friendly with a fully enclosed covered childrens playground and menus that offer affordable choices.

Shades Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2008

Lovely fresh current drinking blend. Loaded with passionfruit and light grassy characters. The palate has a real zing to it with a fine, delicate acidity, sustaining a long finish. Ideal aperitif or Sunday arvo quaffing.

A highly perfumed, delicate, light-bodied Rose with a deliciously appealing palate. It has nice gentle fruit sweetness balanced with a drying crisp acid. It's a classic style that is ideal for summer drinking.

Shades Merlot 2007

Tidy and controlled Merlot of medium-weight. The fruit is held with a combination of slightly assertive fine tannins and a little understated cedary oak. It's created a seamless elegant wine. Nice drinking over the next couple of years.

Senses Cabernet Merlot 2005

Shows some obvious blackcurrant and leafy tobacco on the nose. The palate has a slightly firm character with the tannins a little grippy and the oak still evident. An elegant stylish blend.

Opens with a pungent vibrant gooseberry and light asparagus aroma with a sprinkle of dried herbs. The palate is intense and crisp with heaps of lingering flavour. has a crunchy juicy mouth feel with an enticing acidity.

Passionfruit dominates an exquisite aroma brimming with lush tropical fruits and some crunch mineral and citrus. The palate is full of delicious tropical flavours with the persistent acid providing a lingering finish.

Shades Unoaked Chardonnay 2006 ($16.95)

Good honest Unoaked Chardie with cream tropical fruit aromas leading to a flavoursome creamy stone fruit and melon palate. Nice texture and very drinkable.

Awakening Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 ($39.95)

Characteristic scents of mint and red berry with a little cedary oak. The palate has some substantial tannin influence with firmish fruit and excellent oak integration. Still tight and will develop well with cellaring.

Senses Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc 2009 ($24)

Another superb Sav Blanc from this excellent producer. The wine is half fermented in new and one year old French oak. This results in a wine of complexity and palate texture. This is finer and with a longer more precise palate profile than the previous vintage. Excellent palate depth and intensity while retaining the delicacy of the year.
